Who
we are??
Our very nature is Freedom.
Only our minds tell us otherwise. Therefore there's nothing positive
for us to achieve... only something negative to eliminate. And this
is done by applying various techniques such as viveka, which is discriminating
between the real and the unreal--that is, finding out what existential
attitude or approach carries permanent versus temporary fulfilment.
This, as well as certain other methods are applied in due course,
each of which contributes to our ability to one day successfully employ
our divine weapon, being the Atmavichara (method of Self-enquiry),
which is a devastating process for the ego-Mind, causing it to relinquish
its stronghold on the individual. Liberation results.. |
Practical
GOD
You are He, the Omnipresent
God Almighty, the Soul of your souls. The God whom you worship as
an unknown God, the same I preach unto thee." It is through the
Self that you know anything. I see the chair; but to see the chair,
I have first to perceive myself and then the chair. It is in and
through the Self that the chair is perceived. It is in and through
the Self that you are known to me, that the whole world is known
to me; and therefore to say this Self is unknown is sheer nonsense.
Take off the Self and the whole universe vanishes. In and through
the Self all knowledge comes. Therefore it is the best known of
all. It is yourself. If this is not preaching a practical God, how
else could you teach a practical God? Where is there a more practical
God than He whom I see before me--a God omnipresent, in every being,
more real than our senses? For you are He, the Omnipresent God Almighty,
the Soul of your souls, and if I say you are not, I tell an untruth.
I know it, whether at all times I realize it or not. He is the Oneness,
the Unity of all, the Reality of all life and all existence. |

Quotes of Swami Vivekananda
"Religion is not in books,
nor in theories, nor in dogmas, nor in talking, not even in reasoning.
It is being and becoming." "I do not believe in a God or religion
which cannot wipe the widow's tears or bring a piece of bread to
the orphan's mouth." "Infinite power and existence and blessedness
are ours, and we have not to acquire them; they are our own, and
we have only to manifest them." "He who has no faith in himself
can never have faith in God." "Be an atheist if you want, but do
not believe in anything unquestioningly." "The living God is within
you." "He alone is worshiping God who serves all beings."
